New Water Plant

Viscount is in the process is acquiring a new and updated water treatment plant in 2009.  Safe and tasty drinking water is important for a vibrant community.
Water in Viscount comes from the South Saskatchewan River, although, if you look on a map, the river is very far away.  Water from the river is diverted from Diefenbaker Lake, through a series of canals and resevoirs to the Potash mines east of Saskatoon.  Viscount then draws its water from the resevoir at Zelma.
Residents of Viscount will have increased water rates to help fund the project, but having a safe supply of drinking water is well worth it.

Viscount Growth in 2008

Visit the village web page www.viscount.ca
Viscount experienced growth in 2008 thanks to increased growth in the province. Potash prices are at an all time high, spurring expansion in existing mines and exploration for new ventures.
A number of lots were purchased and several new homes were built this year. Others are expected next year.
A new coffee shop - Rumors Coffee House opened its doors on November 1st. The coffee shop brings fresh baking, great noon lunches, cappuccino, lattes and a place for people to get together and chat.

Viscount offers residents a great lifestyle combined with reasonable property taxes. Residential properties in Viscount continue to be fairly priced compared to Saskatoon. Viscount is a 45 minute drive to Saskatoon on a major highway, the Yellowhead #16. Enjoy life in a small community while having the benefits of city service a short distance away. Jobs are plentiful and it's a great place to bring up your children.
